Our New Adventures
A gentle story to help little ones settle in and shine at school.
In a bright little town, where the sun rose golden over green fields, lived a cheerful child named Aarav.
One morning, Aarav woke up earlier than usual. The birds were chirping, and the air felt fresh and new.
“Today is the first day of my new school session!” Aarav whispered, but his tummy felt a little funny.
He looked at his new books and his neatly packed school bag. Everything was ready — but he wasn’t sure if he was ready.
“What if my teacher is strict?
What if I don’t make new friends?”
Just then, his grandmother came in with a warm smile.
“Why are you thinking so much, my little sunshine?” she asked.
Aarav shared his worries.
Grandmother sat beside him and said,
“Do you remember the first time you tried to read a big storybook?“
Aarav nodded. “Yes … I couldn’t read all the words.”
“And what did you do?” she asked gently.
“I started slowly … and then it became easier!”
Grandmother smiled.
“Exactly. Every new beginning feels big at first — just like that storybook. But when you take one small step at a time, it becomes a beautiful journey.”
Aarav thought about it. Maybe school would be like reading a new story … one page at a time.
When Aarav reached his classroom, his teacher welcomed everyone with a kind voice:
“Welcome to a brand new year full of learning and fun!”
Aarav sat down next to a boy who looked a little shy. For a moment, Aarav stayed quiet. Then he gathered a bit of courage.
“Hi … I’m Aarav,” he said with a small smile.
“What’s your name?”
“I’m Rohan,” the boy replied softly.
“What do you like?” Aarav asked.
Rohan’s eyes brightened. “I like drawing superheroes … and playing football.”
“Really? I like cricket and drawing too!” Aarav said excitedly.
“Maybe we can draw together sometime!”
Rohan smiled wider now. “Okay! And maybe you can teach me cricket?”
Aarav laughed. “Deal!”
Just like that, they both felt happy — and not so nervous anymore.
Later, during the break, the whole courtyard came alive. Aarav and Rohan joined the other kids, all wearing the same blue and white school uniform.
The playground was full of energy. Some girls were having fun on the swing set and tall slide. In the middle of the yard, other children were running and chasing each other, their faces bright with happiness.
As the day went on, Aarav listened, learned, and even smiled more than he expected.
When he returned home, he ran to his grandmother.
“You were right, Grandma! It wasn’t scary — it was FUN!”
Grandmother smiled warmly. “That’s because you opened your first page with courage.”
Aarav grinned.
“And tomorrow, I’ll write an even better page!”
